1. Place the watch directly on the laptop keyboard deck (left side, near the mic — not the speaker). On iPhone, rest the mic corner on the watch case. The watch must physically touch the device — air coupling is insufficient for quiet movements.
2. Set BPH (28800 for most modern watches, including Omega Seamaster). Leave on AUTO to detect.
3. Enter the lift angle (52° for most ETA/co-axial movements).
4. If the oscilloscope shows no peaks, raise GAIN. If false triggers appear, raise SENSITIVITY (higher = harder to trigger).
5. Allow 30–60 s for the trace to stabilize.
Rate: s/day gained (+) or lost (–). COSC: −4 to +6.
Beat error: tick vs tock asymmetry. <0.5 ms is good.
Amplitude: balance wheel swing. 270–310° is healthy.
Tip: the oscilloscope at the top shows the filtered envelope in real time. You should see clear peaks for each tick — use Gain and Sensitivity to tune until peaks exceed the amber threshold line.
